Fog of War

Sony Pictures Classics

With The Fog of War Groundbreaking documentary maker, Errol Morris, outlines the life and times of a key witness and participant in many of the crucial events that defined history of the 20th century. Through a shockingly candid interview with Robert MacNamara (a central foreign policy cabinet member for both the Kennedy and Johnson administrations), the film reveals for the first time some of the retrospective truths about this period of American history. Armed with a massive amount of assets including images, video, clips and sound bites — The Chopping Block created a “time wheel” which allowed the user to dial in certain eras of MacNamara’s life from his time at Ford Motors to his revealing meeting with former VietCong leaders in his retirement. All the while focused in the center of the wheel, snippets from the film itself that highlight the specific issue of that period. The site received many honors, most notably one of Communication Arts picks for the best of 2003.
