The Amon-Carter Museum (perhaps best known for it’s collection of works by the sculptor Frederic Remington) worked with us to create this animation to illustrate the lost-wax process for producing bronze sculpture. By the age of Remington, this was the preferred method for bronze casting and offered far greater detail and complexity than previous methods. However, the lost-wax process is virtually a lost method today, so the museum wanted viewers to understand how such a process was achieved with late 19th century technology.
